Islam as a way of life falls within the norm for social mammalian strategies for survival and reproduction. It's been widespread and robust for a thousand years which should be sufficient(though not absolute)proof of that assertion. Socialism however is another matter. The Communist sect with its emphasis on collectivism to achieve redistribution of wealth and violence in general has accumulated a rather spotty record. They've had a problem feeding themselves. The emergence of the Utopians as the dominate socialist sect has been a different story. They can feed themselves but can they reproduce and defend themselves? Since the demise of liberalism(the Enlightenment/Socialist hybrid)in the US in the 1960s, with one notable exception, it's been a pretty ugly picture. The exception I'm referring to is the capitalism revival led by Thatcher, Reagan, and Deng Xioaping. This rediscovery of capitalism was impressive in increasing the world's productive capacity but was almost entirely technocratic in the West. Little was done to disturb the cultural, institutional, legal, policy, or allocation of resources dominance of the socialists. This has generated interesting academic questions. How long can science, technology, and capitalism support increasingly delusional populations? What will be the effects of the prescription and recreational drug cofactors? As the schism between the sane and sober and the socialists widens will they flee, revolt, or convert to Islam or some combination of the aforementioned? Did I leave out anarchy resulting in loosely defined economic and geopolitical alliances? Well we can hope at any rate.
